Courses
Course 1: The basics 3 days
Cost: £315 including 3 nights Dinner, B&B* (dinner on nights 2 & 3), £195 course only
Specifically aimed at the novice photographer, this course will help to familiarise you with your camera and it's controls. This course includes a handout of the techniques covered.
Day one
We’ll introduce you to the “rules” of composition and start you thinking creatively about your shot. We’ll also look at exposure and camera shake, showing you how to avoid common mistakes and improving your photos using simple techniques and inexpensive accessories.
Day two
Now we're ready to move on to the manual exposure modes. We'll spend a little time in the studio looking at how the Aperture and shuter speed work together and the effect that changing these settings will have on the final image. We'll also look at some of the other manual settings such as exposure compensation and white balalnce. At the end of the day you will be able to take control of your camera.
Day three
Today we'll be "on tour" looking for great locations to put the lessons of the first two days into practice, perhaps heading to Glencoe or following the road to the isles to photgraph iconic Scottish images such as the Buachaille Etive Mhor, Island of Eigg or Caledonian canal

Scotland is the best location in Europe for Wildlfie watching and the Great Glen offers an excellent training ground for the budding wildlife photographer. Target species will vary depending on time of year but may include the rare black throated diver and Scoter which are regular summer visitors to loch Garry, black grouse, pine marten or red squirrells and the abundant insect life of the spring and summer months.
